INFORMATION FOR YOU FROM OUR LIBRARY:  In Immanuel’s library are two copies of a book entitled UNCOMMON by Tony Dungy, a retired National Football League coach winning the Super Bowl in 2007. FEATURE BOOK: UNCOMMON was written primarily for men. It teaches how to live a life of significance. It teaches men how to be husbands, fathers, grand fathers and even great grandfathers. It teaches men how to be uncommon, to stand out as leaders in their homes as well as in society. What does it take to lead a life of significance?   Some of the chapter headings are these: Character, Honestly, Humility, Courage. How to treat a Woman, Fatherhood, Respect Authority. Education, Work, Money. Goals and Risks, Alcohol and Drugs, Failure. Priorities, Being versus Doing. Self Esteem, Faith, Relationship with Christ. Ladies, this book is for you also.  Tony quotes Romans 12:2:  Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good, and pleasing and perfect.

Life thoughts for May 28 – Seventh Sunday of Easter – Destroying life or belittling dignity belongs to the devil’s work (1 Peter 5:8). These methods inevitably end tragically for all involved (Acts 1:16-19). Christ’s comfort invites sufferers instead to entrust their anxieties—and those who cause them—to a faithful Creator (1 Peter 5:7). Holy Father, place our souls in Your hands that we may place Your hands on souls. Amen.
